As the sun almost disappears behind the hills, the fiery ball emits a beautiful glow that sparkles across the landscape between Kaikoura and Blenheim on the South Island of New Zealand. Driving along State Highway 1, the scenery is amazing where you can look across the landscape for miles at the farmland and the colorful rolling hills.The hills appear golden at this time of day with a tinge of browns, yellows and various shades of green. This particular part of State Highway 1 is near the small town of Ward, New Zealand which is just fifty kilometers south of Blenheim.The farmland and hills along State Highway 1 grow beautifully as the climate near Blenheim and Kaikoura has some of New Zealand's sunniest weather. The summers are usually very hot and dry and the winters are known to be fairly crisp which is just what this type of landscape thrives on.The drive along Highway 1 on the South Island of New Zealand is very peaceful and relaxing which makes it very easy to take in the beauty of the scenery. ... continue below the picture...
