Photo: Iceberg Of Newfoundland

Interesting marks show the erosion of the ocean on an iceberg off the coast of Newfoundland in Canada.

The scrapes and stretches on this iceberg are caused through the constant lapping of the Altantic Ocean at it's sides. This iceberg began it's life as ancient compacted ice which calved from a Greenland glacier in the far north then traveled the Atlantic Ocean currents to arrive at the coast of Newfoundland, Canada. Large icebergs can be seen from near St Julien's on the Northern Peninsula along the Viking Trail of Newfoundland.
