This church standing high above the Aegean Sea in Imerovigli is one of about 250 churches located around Santorini, Greece. This particular church has the blue dome roof and bell tower which is typical of a lot of churches throughout Santorini.
The structure and architectural design of each church is unique in its own way and when you take a tour through some of these churches the wall paintings and decor is remarkable.
Imerovigli is a quaint village situated a couple of kilometers from Fira which is the capital of Santorini, Greece. It was almost completely demolished by the 1956
earthquake and many years of hard work were needed to rebuild the village with the beautiful houses, churches and hotels. Today, Imerovigli is one of the main tourist spots in the Greek Islands.
