The masks are used to hide the identity of the people while the costumes can be as outrageous and flamboyant as ever. These are the rules of the Carnival, a part of the Venetian culture in the Italian city of Venice for centuries.
Throughout the unique city of Venice is evidence of its culture even in the form of the touristy market stalls where local Italian people sell their artfully crafted masks and other souvenirs.
