Photo: Kingston Flyer Otago

With the arrival of the gold rush in the Lakes district of Central Otago in the mid 1800's came the Kingston Flyer, a much needed means of transportation to the ports such as Dunedin.

The beautifully maintained steam train named the Kingston Flyer is a tourist attraction which takes visitors on a journey back in time.

The Kingston Flyer runs between Fairlight and Kingston, a 14 kilometre stretch of original track which was laid in 1878.
