Many younger people who vacation in New Zealand are looking for a prime location to try the popular water sport of kiteboarding and are told to head to Orewa beach on the North Island of New Zealand. Orewa beach has the space, the wind and the ideal water conditions for kiteboarding, but when first learning the winds and rough water can be a little overbearing.Experienced kiteboarders will return to this location many times to work on their different techniques especially if they are local residents. This kiteboarder cuts in close to the shore as his kite sails over the beach while other kites adorn the backdrop in front of the sheered cliffs.Kitesurfing along the beach in Orewa, north of Auckland, North Island, New Zealand.
