Massive power kites are part of the gear used in the sport of kitesurfing and these men take a rest on Orewa Beach in New Zealand and check out their kites before taking off. Some of the gear required if you are looking to try the outdoor excitement of kitesurfing is a board, kite and proper clothing is probably wise depending on the area and time of year.As these kites catch the wind gusts, they pull the kitesurfer on a small board across the surface of the water. You must be able to pilot the kite as it soars through the sky and at the same time steer the board that you are standing upon.The sport of kitesurfing was not a very safe one when it was first discovered but over the years the gear has become more advanced as more people are taking a fancy to this sport.
