Lake Garda or Lago di Garda is also known as Gardasee and is 50 kilometers long and anywhere from 1 to almost 16 kilometers wide. The town of Torbole, the capital of the Nago-Torbole district of the Trentino-Alto-Adige region of the South Tyrol in Italy, is located on a bay along the eastern bank at the top of Lake Garda.Torbole has delightful, colourful houses and the many tints contrast with the blue of Lago di Garda. The beautiful lake dates back to the Ice Age and is the largest and one of the cleanest in Italy. Because the landscape changes from mountainous in the north end of Lake Garda to a flat southern end, the waters of the lake, at times, can be extremely rough or as smooth as glass.The town of Torbole in Italy offers many activities to enjoy on Lake Garda such as sailing, windsurfing, fishing, swimming and any other water sports one can think of.
