A photo of Lake Powell which is mostly situated in Utah although this jeep is overlooking the lake from Arizona. Lake Powell is a man-made lake in the Southwest of Utah on the edge of the Colorado Plateau created by the Glen Canyon Dam. It has over 1,986 miles (3,196 km) of shoreline and is approximately 186 miles (300 km) long and is an excellent recreational lake. Many visitors travel by house boat on the lake, giving them freedom to explore the shoreline as well as the opportunity to stop at the large sandy beaches and points of interest along the way.
