The beacon atop the Castlepoint Lighthouse in Wairarapa on the North Island of New Zealand continues to flash automatically across the waters to aid vessels to safety if needed.
The beacon that filters across the water from the Castlepoint Lighthouse on the coast of the North Island of New Zealand can be seen by vessels for twenty-six nautical miles. A lighthouse keeper tended to the beacon up until 1988 and it was then decided that the beacon would become automated and a lighthouse keeper was no longer needed. I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/11.0, exposure time of 3/5 sec. on ISO 50, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 100mm.
