An exhibit of a house created from the forest remnants was once home to the Chef's Family and can now be seen at the Rewa's Village in Kerikeri on the North Island of New Zealand.

A reproduction of a house at Rewa's Village in a pre-European Maori kainga or village which was the living quarters to the Chef and his family in Kerikeri, New Zealand. The whole village has been duplicated and it is a great tourist attraction where one can learn of the lifestyles of the early Maori people.

Rewa's Village was constructed in 1969 and each exhibit is uniquely designed so that it resembles the buildings that were once used by the Maori tribes. The living quarters of the Chef's family is one of the many places to see, along with others like the cooking shelter, weapons store, storage areas and a fishing store.

The Rewa's Village was named after a Maori man who was the second most powerful man in the Maori tribe, ranking just below the chief, Hongi Hika. Compared to the way life is nowadays and the living quarters that people reside in, it is amazing to see how simple life was in this village. The tours through Rewas Village in Kerikeri, New Zealand are all self-guided and it is opened daily from 10 to 5 for visitors to explore.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/5.6, exposure time of 1/60 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 30mm.
