Photo: Marokopa Falls Waikato NZ

The 36 metre high Marokopa Falls situated in the Waikato District of the North Island, New Zealand.

At the end of a 10 minute bush walk from the carpark visitors can enjoy the Marokopa Falls which look like something out of Treasure Island. These magical falls stand at a height of 36 metres and have several rocky ledges for the water to cascade over.

Marokopa Falls are fringed by native bush which has even encroached onto a few of the rocky outcrops at the crest of the waterfall giving it a rugged but mystical appearance.

Although there is a track leading right to the base of the falls, it is very muddy and not recommended especially since the best view is from a distance.
