Mercado Central, one of the longest running food markets in Europe can be found in the City of Valencia, Valencia in Spain. Since 1928 the 'Central Market' has been housed in a huge Art Nouveau building designed by Alejandro Soler and Francisco Guardia, a steel and glass structure decorated with many coloured ceramic tiles.The Mercado Central in Valencia is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily except Sunday, but it is best to visit in the mornings to see the amazing displays of fresh produce.There are about 1300 market stalls to be seen in the 8000 square meter expanse of the Mercado Central .
