The lanky legs of the moose disappear into the banks of the lake as you get a close up look of his long nose and big pointy ears. It has a coat of long, dark brown hair with very humped shoulders and is considered a very strong animal that is unpredictable in its actions.
The moose is the largest member of the deer species and one of the national animals throughout Canada. In Ontario, you will find the moose in spruce forests, swamps or thick bush where is used to the climate of the chilly winter months in the rough countryside.
In summer, you can locate a moose in a lake or other body of water where it tends to spend a few hours a day cooling off. They can dive for over 5 meters for food on the bottom of a lake and are known to be especially strong swimmers.
