Mount Taranaki is silhouetted by the remaining rays of the sun and shows off the almost perfect cone shape of this volcano. Mount Taranaki, also known as Mount Egmont dominates the North Taranaki countryside as it is the second highest mountain on the North Island of New Zealand.
The lush green rainforest surrounds Mount Taranaki except for the peak which is still covered with snow. Some of the best skiing and mountain climbing is available in the New Zealand area and Mount Taranaki is one of the finest peaks.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/11.0, exposure time of 1/15 sec. on ISO 50, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 170mm.
