Across the horizon, the sunset lighting begins to fade calling a close to another beautiful day for the Gannet Colony at Muriwai Beach near Auckland, New Zealand. The white foamy water swirls around the massive rocks where the gannets sit atop and nest. On both rock cliffs, hundreds of white gannets huddle together waiting for the young to hatch.
An adult gannet soars between the rock cliffs in search of its last meal before darkness takes over. When visiting Muriwai Beach, you will be amazed while watching the gannet colony in their natural habitat, but the scenery is also stunning, especially when the sunset colors adorn the New Zealand sky.
