When a new Apricot blossom begins to open, the petals seem to be wrinkled. As the sun warms the flower, the five dainty petals will become more rounded and uniform. The leaves are still folded inwards which will also begin to open and spread apart as the Spring season continues and the temperatures become slightly warmer.
Acres of beautiful pink flowers decorate the Apricot trees as they grow in small clusters on the branches until the flowers eventually drop off bringing about the fruit. The Apricot orchards of the South Tyrol, Italy are worth visiting in spring or later when the fruit has ripened.
