A New Zealand Fur Seal pup is happy to see his mother who has returned from fishing for a reunion where she will feed her pup on the rocks at Cape Palliser in Wairarapa, New Zealand. This family will not be close knit for long as once the Fur Seal mother has finished feeding her pup, around nine or ten months of age, the baby will be left to fend for itself. During the summer months when visiting the South Island of New Zealand, Cape Palliser is one of the best places to view a family of New Zealand Fur Seals.
