Another day comes to an end in the South Pacific. This photo taken at Cape Reinga during sunset shows the landscape of the far north of New Zealand, shaped by the Pacific Ocean waters and prevailing winds that nature throws at coast.
Cape Reinga, being at the northern tip of the North Island of New Zealand, attracts more than 120,000 visitors per year and is currently awaiting World Heritage Site designation with UNESCO, it is the main attraction in the north. According to Maori mythology, Cape Reinga is said to be the jumping off point of spirits as they depart this world and enter the underworld. It is situated in a beautiful elevated location overlooking untamed landscape, as this photo shows.
