On this incredibly serene morning in the Strait of Belle Isle in Newfoundland, Canada, a humpback whale goes for a deep dive in search of some breakfast. The Strait of Belle Isle is approximately 145 kilometers in length, about 15 miles wide and is situated between Labrador and Newfoundland.
The humpbacks return to Newfoundland in the late spring to feed after they have ventured from the Caribbean where they calve. Female humpbacks bring their calves back with them so they can introduce them to the migration route.
On a beautiful summer day in Newfoundland there is nothing like booking a whale watching trip and spending the day with the humpback whales.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1DS, aperture of f/5.6, exposure time of 400000/100 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 220mm.
