Every person on this boat tour known as the Maid of the Mist in Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada puts on a blue rain suit before venturing near the falls. This boat tour takes you on an exciting adventure underneath the mist of both the American and Canadian Falls and staying dry is not an option.
Most of the flow from Niagara Falls goes over the Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side with less than ten percent going over the American Falls. Being aboard the boat, you can actually feel the roar of the falls as the water rushes around the boat and the spray showers you with cold water.
The Maid of the Mist was first put into action in 1846 but it was not until 1854 that the boat tour actually started bringing in the tourists.
