The Nugget Point lighthouse sits atop a scenic headland and is a must see while travelling the Southern Scenic Route in the Catlins district of New Zealand. The headland is surrounded by rock formations "nuggets" (hence its name) which are scattered at its base and extend into the Pacific Ocean.
