Onions and shallots both belong to the Allium family, as do garlic and leeks. Onions can be red, yellow, white and brown in a round shape, while shallots are brown and more elongated. Flavours vary from sweet and mild to very strong.Each food display at the market stall is neatly arranged making it easier for the customer to see and chose which type of onions or shallots they prefer.
