Some statues are easily missed while vacationing in different towns, but this Canadian Goose statue at the Information Centre in the town of Wawa, Ontario is not one of those. Standing twenty-eight feet high, this statue towers above the landscape and the tourists who pass by.
The statue of the Canadian Goose was constructed in 1963 and has become an important landmark for the people of the town of Wawa, Ontario. A previous statue was made of plaster, but the temperature change and fierce winters was more than the plaster could handle, so the second goose was made out of metal.
A beautiful creation which the local residents are extremely proud of and are happy to have the Canadian Goose watch over their town.Statue of Canadian Goose at the Information Centre in the town of Wawa, Ontario, Canada.
