A baby killer whale or Orca checks out its surroundings by way of spyhop in British Columbia, Canada.

Spyhopping is a frequent activity for Orcas or killer whales. A spyhop is when a whale, in this case an Orca, pops its head out of the water far enough to check out its surroundings. This is a curious baby Orca. An Orca has very good eyesight beneath and above the water, so when they spyhop it is because they want to see what's above the water.
