The most beautiful time to watch an orca whale, aka killer whale, is when the sun slowly sets. This large male killer whale is traveling in Johnstone Strait just outside of Telegraph Cove, the spout is nicely lit up by soft backlighting provided by the setting sun.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1DS, aperture of f/6.3, exposure time of 1/1000 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 100mm.
