In a controlled tropical temperature, butterflies fly freely throughout the Victoria Butterfly Gardens where visitors can enjoy the many different butterfly species. There are close to fifty different types of butterflies in the Victoria Butterfly Gardens which are found throughout the world.Not only can you enjoy them fluttering above your head, there are lots of different pictures that explain the life cycles of both moths and butterflies. There are magnifying lenses for everybody to look through to view these fascinating insects.This butterfly was enjoying his time on a stunning pink flower that also grows in the tropical temperatures of the butterfly gardens. There is a wide range of size, shape, colors and patterns in these gardens and it is a great learning experience for kids. These butterflies are not ones that have been trapped and captured from the wild but rather they have been bred on butterfly farms.When you visit Victoria Butterfly Gardens on Vancouver Island you will also learn a great deal about flowers, plants, birds and fish that you can study at a close range. Pictures of all these unique natural wonders are posted throughout the section known as the Learning Centre.
