Pale pink flowers with dark colored centers, begin to glorify an Almond Tree as spring arrives in the town of Padules in the Sierra Nevada in Andalusia, Spain. Each of the flowers has five petals which grow to be around 3-5 centimeters in diameter and blossom before any of the leaves appear on the tree.
After the flowers have dropped from the branches, the leaves will begin to grow, followed by the fruit. It takes approximately 7 to 8 months after the tree has flowered for the fruit to mature and are ready for harvesting. Most people eat almonds by themselves, but they are also used as an additive in many dishes or desserts.
