The seating area of the Plaza de Toros has two tiers of seats, each of which hold five rows of individual seats and precisely 136 pillars, which make up 68 arches inside the seating area. There is also a royal box in the arena where a place for royalty when they visit. All of the seating area is covered, not to keep out the rain, as Spain does not get too much rain, but rather to protect spectators from the scorching sun.
This arena is located in El Mercadillo, the newer area of Ronda. Plaza de Toros is a tourist attraction in Ronda and there is an admission fee to enter however, the fee is small. The arena also contains a small museum that is dedicated to the history of the 'sport' of bullfighting.
The Plaza de Toros of Ronda also has a place in pop culture history, as it was here that Madonna shot her very famous video 'Take a Bow' in 1994. ... continue below the picture...
