After having fasted for several months while raising a cub, this polar bear sow looked pretty low in energy. She still has a few weeks to go before the pack ice will be firm enough to hold her weight and provide a platform for her and her cub to reach the ringed seals in the waters of Hudson Bay in Manitoba, Canada.
During a tundra buggy tour when lunch is served (consisting of beef soup), the smell was irresistible to the very hungry polar bear sow.
Adult female Polar Bear, Ursus maritimus, seen from a tundra buggy in the Churchill Wildlife Management Area, Hudson Bay, Churchill, Manitoba, Canada.
