The pou situated in Puke Ariki Landing in New Plymouth was carved by the members of the Rangimarie Maori Arts and Craft Society. It features a Maori cloak and a net. The net represents bringing people together. Puke Ariki Landing is the site where the first Europeans to Taranaki arrived and were welcomed by the Maori people living in the village.
