Sir John A. MacDonald was born in 1815 and was the first Prime Minister of Canada who served in office for nineteen years from start to finish. This made him the second longest serving Prime Minister of Canada and was the only Canadian to win six governments.
His life was full of adventure, along with many hard times, leading to his death in 1891. This statue outside of the Ontario Legislative Building in the city of Toronto, Ontario is one which is highly deserved and marks the years of his triumph.Due to the placement of the statue, close to the stop sign, it is hard to miss while touring the legislative grounds.
