The Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido is a gorgeous tourist destination in the world famous Pyrenees Mountains. It is characterized by steep hills and sloping valleys and it even has a glacier. Throughout the park it also contains many hidden treasures, such as the Rio Bellos in the Canon de Anisclo, where a visitor can suddenly come across a still and silent pool that is fed by a cascading waterfall.
As can be seen in the photograph, the water is still, clean, and reflects the rocks and vegetation above as clearly as a mirror would. You can see all the way down to the bottom of the pool, where the rocks lie on the stream bed. The water is a gorgeous emerald blue - something many visitors only dream of seeing in real life.
This park is an excellent example of many different types of ecosystems, as it has both Atlantic and Mediterranean influences. ... continue below the picture...
... Because of this duality, the vegetation that grows here can be found in both ecosystems, making it an even more interesting place to see and visit.
This park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, meaning it is protected by the World Heritage Program because of its importance to the history of humanity.
