The average rainfall in Fiordland National Park of 6200mm per year allows for a diverse flora and fauna to thrive in its rainforests. Its isolation has encouraged endemism with over 700 plants found only in Fiordland. Fiordland also features some great hiking trails where visitors can get close to nature and get rewarded with scenes of lush and diverse flora. Good sturdy boots and a rain coat are recommended.
