The old town of Freising in Bavaria, Germany is located about 32 kilometers north of Munich, and from the 12th century until the start of the 19th century, there was a strong rivalry between the two communities. Munich prospered over the years, but Freising has remained the centre of a major diocese.The striking baroque bell tower of Saint George's Parish Church stands tall and bright at dusk along the Hauptstrasse or main street, in Freising, Bavaria.
