A well maintained track eventually spills hikers onto the sandy beach of San Josef Bay. The hike takes approximately 30 minutes from the trail head and comes out near a camp area. The San Josef Bay Beach is often deserted and visitors can enjoy a true sense of being in the remote wilderness.San Josef Bay is also part of the Cape Scott Provincial Park on Northern Vancouver Island and is only one of the scenic ocean beaches in the 21849 hectare park. Wilderness hiking, camping and wildlife viewing are all popular activities for visitors who hike the track and San Josef Bay offers swimming (with caution), beach combing, and much more.
