The Pentecost Dome seen in the forefront is possibly the oldest dome dating from around the middle of the 12th century. The centre dome is the Ascension Dome, the painting inside the Basilica depicts Christ's rise to Heaven. The intricate sculptured work around the roof and the glimpse of the portals is proof the Basilica di San Marco in Venice is one of the most outstanding buildings in the world.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/9.0, exposure time of 1/40 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 24mm.
