As members of the wease or mustelid family, the Sea Otter has very thick fur in fact the thickest of any mammal. Sea Otters have two layers of fur which traps air so that their skin does not get wet and therefore insults them against the cold.
They are generally very social animals where the females and their pups spend time in one group and males gather in another group.
