The Shorepine Bog Trail is considered an easy trail, but those who have walked it say that it is probably one of the most exciting in the Pacific Rim National Park near Tofino. There are many trails in the park, and while some are much more difficult, the Shorepine Bog Trail is almost magical in places as it feels like it is part of the landscape with just this wooden boardwalk to guide you on your way. This trail is in the Long Beach Unit of the Pacific Rim National Park on the West Coast of Vancouver Island.
One of the most beneficial things about the Shorepine Bog Trail is that it is completely wheelchair accessible, which most trails are not. It is also quite short as it only takes about 20 minutes to go all the way around, so it is perfect for a short stroll or a quick appreciation of nature. ... continue below the picture...
The Shorepine Bog Trail is also unique because it takes you on a tour of all the different kinds of moss that the Pacific Rim National Park has to offer. As you can see from the photograph, there are many different kinds of moss and goblin looking stunted trees due to the soil acidity in this area of the Pacific Rim National Park. It seems like you are in a kind of wilderness wonderland when you look at this trail that is so connected to nature and yet is still a place of observation. The Shorepine Bog Trail is well worth a short walk around if you have about 20 minutes to spare, and if you don't, you should make time for this nature experience.
