An alpine river, is lined by frost covered trees and set into a winter wonderland scene. This is located in the Wildgerlostal (the Wildgerlos Valley) in Salzburger Land in Austria.
In high altitudes in the mountains, snow can exist for most of the year, even on a sunny day such as this one. When it is sunny but cold, the sun glistens off ice and snow which surround the river and even on the bare branches of the trees. This is a beautiful, breathtaking sight.
This valley is very popular with tourists and although can be difficult to get to, especially in the winter time, it is well worth taking the time to go up here as the views are just stunning. With a backdrop of snow-capped mountains, ... continue below the picture...

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III, aperture of f/10.0, exposure time of 1/125 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 26mm.
