New Zealand's South Island is renowned for its diverse landscape and this picture demonstrates exactly that - lush green pastures, pristine coast and coastal waters, and towering mountains.
The Kaikoura region along the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand possesses a great deal of natural beauty which draws the summer crowds. The town of Kaikoura is backdropped by the Kaikoura Mountain Range which is home to an array of native fauna and flora. The Kaikoura Peninsula divides South Bay from North Bay and is punctuated at it's tip by a seal colony which also plays host to various species of sea birds.
At various places along the coast the Seaward Kaikoura Mountain Range rises straight out of the coastal waters while in other places there's rolling foothills between the jagged peaks and the sea.
