The Tiger Longwing butterfly originates from between Mexico and the Peruvian Amazon. These pretty butterflies are pollen eaters rather than surviving on food stored from the laval stage or on flower nectar. The eating habit of the Tiger Longwing attributes to its longevity of several months as well as its high fecundity rates.
This Tiger Longwinged Butterfly, was resting on a leaf at the Victoria Butterfly Gardens on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
