Sunsets seen from Tofino on the West Coast of Vancouver Island are spectacular as the horizon seems to go on forever. Although the west coast of Canada is known for its ruggedness and exposure to the Pacific Ocean, at times it can be as peaceful and serene as a protected bay with waves gently lapping the sandy beaches, and a few distant clouds diffusing the light of the sun as it dips below the horizon.
Tofino is a popular travel destination during the winter for storm watching from luxury beach front lodges or during the summer for beach walks and sunshine! One of the units of The Pacific Rim National Park is located in between Ucluelet and Tofino. The Pacific Rim National Park is made up of three units - the Broken Group Islands, The West Coast Trail, and Long Beach.
