Along the coastline of the Costa Brava there are many resort towns like this historic village of Tossa De Mar in Catalonia, Spain in Europe. There is proof that Tossa De Mar has settlements going back to the Stone Age and that the population has continuously grown since then.
In the 12th century this town was walled off and a castle was erected atop Mt. Guardi, then replaced by a windmill and then by a lighthouse which is still standing and functional. Till about the 1950's the town of Tossa de Mar remained about the same and then this charming Spanish town become a favored tourist location.
People now flock to Tossa De Mar for the amazing scenery, beautiful beaches and the unbelievable sunshine where they also enjoy the fine restaurants and shopping opportunities available throughout this unique town in Catalonia, Spain in Europe.
