Tourists wander the landscape of White Island which is an active volcano in the Bay of Plenty on the North Island of New Zealand.

Two types of tours are available to see White Island, one by helicopter and the other by boat. Tourists in this picture came with a company named Peejay that is very well known for their White Island Tours.

After an approximate eighty minute boat ride, they disembark the larger vessel in the bay and board an inflatable boat to get to the shore of White Island off the North Island of New Zealand.

As tourists wander the sulphuric landscape of White Island in the Bay of Plenty on the North Island of New Zealand, they must wear hard hats for safety reasons. Hard hats are just a precautionary measure as White Island is an active volcano and even though it is regularly monitored, one never knows what may happen.
