With the traditional tattoos adorning the face of a Maori Warrior and his clothing, this man is proud of his heritage which is shown to many visitors at the Wairakei Terraces near Taupo on the North Island of New Zealand. Feathers are part of the head gear a Maori Warrior wears along with the feathery covering for his shoulders and lower sections of his body made of woven flax covered with fur or feathers.Tattoos are also displayed on the thighs of the Maori Warrior which are not fully visible in this picture. As the warrior climbs up the rank in their tribe, the traditional tattoos become very detailed. The Wairakei Terraces on the North Island of New Zealand is an excellent place to visit to learn of the Maori culture and traditions.Maori Warrior at the Wairakei Terraces near Taupo, North Island, New Zealand.
