The growth of a tree is fascinating in itself, but when visiting the City of Cadiz in Andalusia, Spain, tourists stop to view this interesting looking old ficus tree tree trunk along the Avenida Dugue de Najera. The thickness of the trunk is amazing as each of the branches sprouts in a different direction after twisting and turning themselves amongst each other during its growth period.
The ficus tree has been growing in this location, across from the Playa de la Caleta in Cadiz for many years and when the city continued to grow, buildings and streets were built around this unique landmark. Tourists always stop to admire this old ficus tree and snap a picture or two, while others use the tree trunk as a meeting place after touring the city of Cadiz.
