When you first pull up to the town of Gore on the South Island of New Zealand you will see the large trout statue and the welcome sign. The town of Gore has the beauty of the South Island and it is extremely hard to pass it by especially for people looking for a great place for fishing.Known as the World Capital for Brown Trout Fishing, many fisherman journey to Gore annually between October and April to test their luck with the Brown Trout. Those who are not interested in fishing, are here to enjoy the outdoor beauty of Gore and explore the places of interests.Anglers that come to Gore, New Zealand usually head to the Mataura River which is where a majority of the trout are found. This is not just a simple fishing excursion, as the Brown Trout create a difficult task in reeling one in.
