Along the shores of the Hudson Bay in Churchill, Manitoba, tourists get an extreme close up look of a Polar Bear Cub while on one of the many Tundra Buggy tours. This Polar Bear also finds himself getting a close look at all the tourists peering out of the windows and probably wonders what they are looking at.
For an eleven month old cub, this fellow standing on his hind legs is taller than one of the massive tires required for crossing over the icy tundra. As cute as this young Polar Bear looks as he explores the Tundra Buggy, he is still very strong and is not a force to be reckoned with. All passengers aboard these tours must stay on board to ensure the safety of the tourists as well as the safety of the Polar Bears.
On occasion, the young Polar Bears get more of a kick out of exploring the tundra buggy tours than the people get out of watching them. These tundra buggy tours have been in operation for over twenty-five years and the guides are extremely experienced with dealing with the Polar Bears. The success rate of locating the Polar Bears is also very high and this is the best way to travel to the Churchill Wildlife Management Area in search of the great white bear.
