A small church is set into the Tuscan landscape with an unobstructed view of the rolling hills, the trees and farmland which surrounds it.
This is the region of Chianti wines, cyprus, oak and evergreen trees, where a visitor can stumble across an old farmhouse, or in this case, an old Tuscan church.
Some of these churches are still in use today and are used for the surrounding farmhouses and communities as a place of worship. Others are converted to either houses or farmhouses, or even hotels and pensions.
This church was found near the town of Pienza, which is located to the south of the town of Siena in Tuscany. Siena is a very hilly province, as you can see from the photograph, and it is not surprising that most residents of the area work in the fields of agriculture, silk culture, and vineyards. ... continue below the picture...
